At the time of publication, no laws were in existence, either expressed or implied, preventing the export of Mott's* Clamato* for personal use. 11. What's with that code on the bottle?
The majority of Mott's* Clamato* products are marked with a production code stating the day, place and time that they are made. The production code is located either on the cap or shoulder of the bottle and may look something like this, WP20209 12:48. If it doesn't look like that, it will look like this, T20209.
12. Do I need a special decoder ring to understand the code?
No you don't, although we never really checked to see if that would work. Here's what you need to know
The first letters in the sequence (WP or T) indicates where the Clamato was made
The next number (2) indicates the last number of the year it was made, in this example 2002
The next two numbers (02) indicate the month it was made, February
The next two numbers (09) indicate the day it was made, the 9th
Finally, the last digits (12:48) indicate the time of day it was made, in this case just after noon. Which is weird because that's usually when Jimmy takes his break.
13. What is the shelf life of Mott's* Clamato*?
Before opening, Mott's* Clamato* will last up to 12 months time from the production code date. After opening, Mott's* Clamato* should be refrigerated and used within a 2 to 3 week period.
14. Why has my Mott's* Clamato* darkened in color?
Over time, Mott's* Clamato* can darken slightly. Make sure to check the production date code to ensure the product is still within its shelf life.
